Industrial Lifting Systems: Overhead, Gantry, and Jib Cranes #
Cheng Day offers a versatile range of lifting solutions tailored for industrial environments, focusing on overhead cranes, bridge cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, and portal cranes. These systems are engineered to enhance efficiency, safety, and adaptability in manufacturing and maintenance settings.
Main Lifting Equipment Overview #
Our primary lifting equipment includes:
- Overhead Cranes
- Bridge Cranes (Bridge crane )
- Overhead Travelling Cranes (Overhead travelling cranes )
- Gantry Cranes (Gantry crane )
- Jib Cranes
- Portal Cranes
The overhead bridge cranes are available in three distinct types—low speed, regular speed, and high speed—allowing for flexible application based on operational requirements. Jib and portal cranes are designed with integrated up/down hoisting and left/right traversing mechanisms, sometimes featuring both main and secondary hoisting units for added versatility.
The crab frame is constructed using structural steel with welded joints, ensuring durability and strength. The layout of the crab trolley is optimized for available space, facilitating easier maintenance and including safety features such as handrails.
Bridge Crane & EOT (Electric Overhead Traveling) Crane #
Bridge cranes, also known as overhead cranes, feature a robust lifting system—either an overhead hoist or an open overhead winch. Their modular construction and high degree of standardization make them adaptable to a wide range of industrial applications. Key features include:
- Parallel runways with a traveling bridge
- A hoist that moves along the bridge
If the bridge is supported on legs running on ground-level rails, the system is referred to as a gantry crane (USA, ASME series) or goliath crane (UK, BS series). Unlike mobile or construction cranes, these systems are primarily used in manufacturing or maintenance, where operational efficiency and minimized downtime are critical.
Optimized Space Utilization #
Cheng Day’s overhead cranes, including the Black Bear series, are designed to maximize usable space. The integration of lifting, cross travel, and long travel mechanisms reduces hook approaches, expanding the effective working area. Structural welded elements are produced using automated and robotic systems, ensuring consistent quality and repeatability.
Our cranes accommodate a broad range of lifting needs, from chain hoists with a 250 kg capacity to wire rope hoists capable of handling up to 200 tons. The structure—whether box girder or standard profile—is optimized through computer-aided calculations for maximum efficiency and reliability.
Technical Standards and References #
Cheng Day’s designs adhere to internationally recognized standards, referencing:
- CMAA (Crane Manufacturers Association of America)
- HMI (Hoist Manufacturers Institute)
- MMA (Monorail Manufacturers Association)
- FEM (European Materials Handling Federation)
- DIN (German Institute for Standardization)
- ISO (International Organization for Standardization)
- JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards)
- CE (European Conformity)
These standards ensure our products meet stringent requirements for safety, reliability, and performance.
